Overview

The Brick Breeden Fieldhouse holds a special place in hearts of those around the community in Bozeman. Not only does the Fieldhouse serve as the central hub for Montana State Athletics, it also is the home to a variety of events that range from MSU activities to big-time concerts.

In 1956, Montana State University's Brick Breeden Fieldhouse opened as the premiere college basketball and all-purpose facility in the Northwest. The MSU Fieldhouse, as it was then known, was the largest domed structure in the western hemisphere without a center support.

The Fieldhouse encompasses Worthington Arena, which serves as the home of Montana State men's basketball, women's basketball and indoor track and field competitions. It's played host to multiple sell-outs in basketball, several Big Sky Track and Field Championships, and played host to the largest crowd to ever witness a volleyball match in school and Big Sky history, as 6,378 fans watched the 'Cats down arch-rival Montana in 2002.

Housed in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse are the Department of Athletics' offices, the Bill Ogle Hall of Fame Room, team locker rooms, the Academic Success Center, the D'Agostino Strength Training Center, the Bobcat Fuel Nutrition Center and the Athletic Training Center.

The historic Fieldhouse has played host to concerts including the likes of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Toby Keith, Clint Black, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Matchbox 20, BB King, Snoop Dogg, Elton John, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Twenty One Pilots. Numerous trade shows are held under the giant structure. The Montana State rodeo team holds its home rodeo in the Fieldhouse every year for four days, selling out the final day of action.

Montana State University regularly holds its convocation and celebrates winter and spring graduations in the building. For more information regarding the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse/Max Worthington Arena, contact Sports Facilities at 406-994-7117.
